Why Bad?

First and foremost, I'm not a professional Genealogist, simply an humble and curious amateur researcher and history enthusiast.

In January 2023,  I took an Ancestry DNA test. When my results came in, there were no surprises. My ethnic profile was as expected. I immediately recognized several 1st and 2nd cousins who had previously sent in samples. The game was afoot and my tree was planted.

I personally knew all of my grandparents and one of my Greats. The surnames of several generations of our progenitors were common family knowledge. I had a solid head-start.

Based solely on family lore, I was expecting to find some interesting stories. I did - and so much more.

That's what this blog is about. Hopefully some of the entries will be useful to future family and other researchers.
